The Minister of Finance and the Coordinating Minister of the Economy,
Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has said that the proposed 2014 appropriation
bill will make more provisions for gender empowerment.
According to the Minister who made this known at the official launch of
the Nigerian chapter of WEConnect, a USA based international
non-governmental organisation championing women business enterprises
through her Special Assistant, Dr. Chii Tuesday in Minna said gender
empowerment was put into consideration during the preparation of the
budget proposal.
She said her ministry collaborated and will continue the join efforts with other Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA) by designing key programmes targeted at women empowerment in the new fiscal year.
